THE GRENDAL CUP - SAGA TOURNAMENT

Where: Grange Thistle Soccer Club

Cost: $15.00 ($35.00 including the $20.00 membership fee to the club)

Days: Saturday the 5th of May and Sunday 6th of May

Kickoff: 9am kick off both days.

Points: 4 points The new Northern Fury lists released in April are allowed as well as characters.

Time: Each Game is allotted 1.5 Hours per game.

Games: 9 Games in all, 5 on the Saturday and 4 on the Sunday.

The Games are:
3x Pitched Battle, Homeland, Sacred Ground, The Challenge, The Escort, Clash of Warlords and Awaking the Monster Grendal.

Northern Fury is a SAGA army list supplement. It contains 22 pages, full colour and comes with 4 card Battleboards - Anglo-Saxon, Breton, Jomsvikings & Scots.

Northern Fury contains details of 4 new warbands (Anglo-Saxon, Breton, Jomsvikings & Scots) for use in your SAGA games (including 4 new Battleboards) plus a new multi-player scenarios, Wooden Oaths.

In case you are wondering, the Anglo-Saxons use the same dice as the Anglo-Danes, the Bretons the same as the Normans and the Jomsvikings use the Viking dice. But the Scots, aye Laddy! They use their own dice, the new Scots dice are out with the new Saga release

Samurai

SAMURAI WARS

The Warring States or Sengoku period of Japanese history in the 16^th Century saw the rise of massive Samurai armies as rival Daimyo (Feudal Warlords) and their clans battled for supremacy and the title of Shogun. Thousands of men fought and died for the glory of clan and Daimyo armed with only spear, sword, bow or primitive firearms. The Samurai, as the core of these armies, were gradually replaced by Ashigaru during this period as the rise in firearms use increased.

Wargames Factory have produced three boxes now of superbly detailed 28mm plastic miniatures. The boxes are Samurai, Ashigaru Yari Troops and Ashigaru Missile Troops.

ANGLO-ZULU WARS

Zulus The Anglo-Zulu War occured in 1879 between Great Britain and the Zulu Empire. Despite the high morale, mobility and large numbers (estimated at over 40 000 soldiers) the almost total lack of modern weaponry would lead to the final defeat of the Zulu nation at the hands of the British thin red lines. Despite this the Zulu Warriors did an amazing job in the batlles of Islandlwana, Hlobane and the minor action at Intombi.

Using your favourite set of Colonial rules like Black Powder or Principles of War for example you can now field large numbers of Zulus and British using these affordable Anglo-Zulu War miniatures.....

In the words of Lieutenant Bromhead from ZULU " At 100 yards, Volley Fire! Present, aim, fire!".......
